Welcome to The Ickesburg Sportsmen's Association

The Ickesburg Sportsmen's Association, Inc. was founded in 1979. Our first meetings were held at the Ickesburg Firehouse. In 1981, we started the cooperative fish nursery on Snyder Lane. We purchased that land in 1991.

We built the trap and rifle ranges in 1993. Currently, we have rifle ranges of 25, 50, 100, 150, and 200 yards. We also have archery target butts and a platform with 3-D targets for the archers. We are also the parent club of the Perry County Regulators, who schedule, plan, and run Cowboy Action Shooting matches. We have 7 stages with several props for the Cowboy shooters. We are an NRA (www.nra.org) affiliated club.

We have 2 pavilions that the club members can schedule to use. Also, the club building is available for rental by club members. To schedule, call one of the directors or officers who will present the date to the directors for approval.

We are a participating club in the Perry County Sportsmen for Youth. We were the hosting club for 2000, 2001, and 2002 Perry County Youth Field Day. The 2003 Perry County Youth Field Day will be held on June 14, 2003 at the Duncannon Sportsmen's Association and will return to Ickesburg in 2004.

The Ickesburg Sportsmen's Association is a cooperative nursery with the PA Fish and Boat Commission. Each year, we raise 5000 to 6000 trout in our nursery for stocking in local streams. The fish are provided by the Fish Commission, but we must maintain the nursery and purchase the feed.

Beginning in January 2002, we are sponsoring Venture Crew 3006 (http://venture3006.tripod.com). The Crew is chartered with the Boy Scouts of America. It is open to young men and women ages 14 to 21. The theme of the crew is shooting sports and the outdoors. Some of their activities have been qualifying shooting for NRA and NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation) awards and Cowboy Action Shooting.
